More organizing from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

With a little bit more focus and NO priority, this is what happened yesterday.

Yep --- I was at the embroidery machine and trying to get as much of the border on Green Tea done as I could. OK -- I wanted to get all the two flower motifs completed.

And while trying to achieve that goal, I emptied three spools of thread and three bobbins. Well, that happened throughout the last couple of days.

Using up supplies!

I spotted this on the floor at one point on the Monday Sewing Zoom. Seriously? How many times have I passed the Swifter and ...

It's a GOOD day! from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

OMG --- For real, I'm back! So much to say today!

I have to tell you about this strange phone call I got. I was about to call someone in a different area code when I received a call from that area code. It wasn't the store I was about to call—it was neither of the two stores in that same area code that I needed to contact. There was no name, and although it said "verified number," I didn't answer.

Funny enough, I received a voicemail, so I listened to it. "Hey Muhammed, I was hoping ...

Trifecta!!! from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

Oh my --- I had a busy day, but I don't have much to show! But I tried, and what doesn't get completely finished, at least, is a sample. The finishing will come later! I trust the people looking at the samples aren't going for finesse -- we're going for the inspiration and the ideas! Plus, I have some finished samples.

But the day started with the two Zoom classes, which went great! I am passionate about teaching, and well, I'm just darn good at it! No one toots their own horn often enough, but I'll ...

Barbie quilts are done! from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

Thanks to everyone for the birthday wishes!! I had a great day and spent it on the phone talking to family or on Zoom chatting with friends! Oh -- and I did spend time with DH and the girls! Now, how much more could one person want?

I actually accomplished a fair amount, considering all the interruptions. I started off by quilting that Barbie quilt.

Community project quilt - DONE

I started to quilt that darn thing well over 20 years ago! I remember at the college, we had just received the equivalent of what we would call a sit-down quilting machine ...

Cleaning up photos from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

And another crazy day is in the bag! Actually, it wasn't a crazy day at all. It was a glorious day - I worked at a leisurely rate, went for a long walk, sat in the gazebo, and generally went easy and well -- it was a glorious day!

The day started a bit weird. Lexi and I were out walking along a somewhat busy street. While she doesn't pull like Murphy does, she likes to stop and smell EVERYTHING. Tugging is required to get her back on track and keep her moving; otherwise, we would never make it back ...

Use your time wisely from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

Things are settling back to normal! As we get back to normal, I think we all need to take stock of our lives and see what changes need to be made. We CANNOT just go back to normal. We need to evaluate what we what in life (we only have one, and the clock is ticking!), how and who we want to spend our time with. What projects will we work on, what groups will we join, what classes we'll take, etc.?

Helen recently listened to a decluttering your life lecture from TWO different organizations, so we know it ...

Decluttering 101 from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

 Happy New Year!!

It will be another great year of decluttering, sewing, decluttering, sewing, maintaining our new uncluttered spaces, then sewing, sewing, sewing!

I want to outline a few guidelines because this decluttering business is hard work. Not only is it a physical job, but the emotional side is going to be challenging, and you need to be prepared. This can work for your house, in general, or your sewing space specifically.

  1. You will likely feel overwhelmed, ashamed, embarrassed, or all three as you go through your sewing room. That's OK. You can cry and leave the cluttered space ...

UFO progress from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

I LOVE all of you! And I truly appreciate your reading my blog, and I've received so many fantastic suggestions. Jan gave me a BRILLIANT suggestion for the two UFO Clubs. I will pick a project to work on in one of the UFO clubs, and the assignment for the second one will be to quilt and bind one of my quilts. That's BRILLIANT. I'm going to have to do that as soon, I'm going to run out of room in those tubs, and I really don't want to buy another one.

Yippeee!!! I love ...

A play date with machine embroidery from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

Yesterday I spoke of writer's block. No need to worry about that this morning, but I noticed that I'm over 3,800 blog posts, and that's for THIS blog. Before this blog, I had another one that sat on LiveJournal, and I think it's still there. I should go back and see if I can link them -- just for my sake, and I should dig up the very first picture I posted on a blog. It was a heron at my pond in the backyard!

Anyway --- let's start with what I keep talking about -- the ...

What was lost is found! from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

The missing window has been located! Yeah! I was so worried that the issue I uncovered back in June hadn't been rectified, but I was sure that I scoured that contract before shelling out the money. When I returned from the morning walk, the guys were already hard at work in the garage on the window that had initially been forgotten. Phew -- that means the contract should be OK.

The missing window was in the warehouse, and it was a challenge to keep them all straight when they had so many windows! But we are good to go.

All ...

Labels are important from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

OH DRAT!!!  I should have checked that the links I posted yesterday actually worked. There was an issue with the sound, and so that video was replaced.

Here are the NEW links.  Just tested, and at least the Facebook one works. So sorry for that!!!!

As usual, I tried to cram too much into the day! In addition to the last class for two of the sew-alongs of this past year, I signed up for a Kimberbell class that I could participate in virtually.

Never Give Up from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

The spin class was interesting yesterday. There's a maximum of 10 people per class. It's a large room that can hold 70 bikes plus the front part where the instructor sits. Only the back two rows were being used, with half of the room empty. AH - it appears that they are also doing yoga in this room. Yep - they have a massive yoga room, but only 10 people are allowed in the room. It's very frustrating. But I'm not letting it get me down. The gym and the instructors have been very accommodating by adding extra ...

Surrounded by love from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

I'm making great progress on getting stuff done. Yeah - last week, I just felt like I was going backward all the time. This week is going much smoother.

Three hours of Zoom yesterday and no drops. Can I dare say that the connection is stabilized? I'm knocking very hard on wood as I say that!

I'm in the process of writing a pattern that is taking a bit longer than I had planned, but it's like writing THREE patterns in one. I've got all the paperwork laid out to finish that off. It's now ...

It's my BIRTHDAY!!! from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

How many people want to celebrate their birthdays? I do!! It's not a big birthday this year, but I'm just glad that I'm around one more year and I expect to celebrate many more birthdays. My grandfather lived to 100, and we seem to have great longevity in our family genes. That's my plan as well. So, no - you don't need to know how old I am. You just need to know that I'm still enjoying each and every day, and I can't wait to have some fun today.

Even my Fitbit knows ...

Multitasking is not a good thing from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

I really do need to create a list of lost items. Not that that is going to help me find the missing items, but at least I'll know what I can't find and I can celebrate when I find the darn things. Like those bodkins and the doll patterns and a person's phone number and, and. I might have a stab at creating that list later today.

I actually got excited yesterday. Why? Because I had a couple of errands in the afternoon and another Zoom call. I had THINGS to do! I had three things to ...

I can't believe........................ from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

I did work in the office yesterday. I didn't want to, but I had to. I had to at least make a start on this mess. I know from working on the basement that the more I tidy up and the more I throw away, the better I'm going to feel about the entire mess. I also know that the office is going to be hard - this is the dumping ground. That means that ANYTHING that didn't have a home, got dumped here.

There are two desks, a table, and a buffet. Oh - there's a filing ...
